DOES EMERGE SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES?

Emerge ships gear all around the world, however some of our bigger equipment isn’t ready to ship outside of the US yet but we’re working on it. 

Please pay special attention to the additional costs calculated at check out if you are ordering out of the US. If you would prefer not to pay the additional shipping cost and have made an order already, we can promptly refund you. Just contact us via the contact us page and quote your order number. 

ALSO remember that international customers are responsible for any custom fees that may be associated with the order once it arrives at the border. 

 

WHY AM I BEING CHARGED SALES TAX?

Emerge Fitness is required by law to collect sales/use tax on orders shipped to Ohio, Texas and California. If we are shipping to one of these states, the appropriate charges will be added to your merchandise total and displayed on your final order confirmation. 

 

SHOULD I START CROSS TRAINING IF I AM OUT OF SHAPE?

This is a common misconception.  The answer is yes.  CrossFit is designed to get those  out-of-shape into shape and those  in-shape to get into better shape.   

CrossFit can be scaled to meet any fitness level. The entire group can participate in the same workout, but with different loads and range of motion. For example; An elite level athlete may be doing a particular exercise with 135 lbs, while the ‘out-of-shape’ beginner will be using a 10 lb training bar. An elite athlete may be performing box-jumps onto a 30″ box, while the ‘out-of-shape’ beginner may be stepping onto a 12″ box. An elite athlete may be doing pull-ups, while an ‘out-of-shape’ beginner is doing ring rows. This scaleable approach applies to every workout that you do in cross training.

 

WHICH EMERGE PRODUCT SHOULD I GET FIRST?

Go for products that are going to give you the biggest return.

If you are just getting into Crossfit then protection focused products can help like our grips, wrist wraps or knee sleeves. Or, If you’re feeling adventurous you might want to go for something a little more challenging like Gymnastic Rings that can be used for a series of different exercises and are perfect for adding to a home gym.

 

WHAT ARE THE BEST AMRAP EXERCISES FOR CROSSFITTERS?

AMRAP workouts have transformed from a niche form of working out and are now rapidly becoming a rising fitness trend. This type of training started as a part of CrossFit routines but has since become its own stand alone regimen. 

There are many good reasons for rising in popularity too. If used correctly, these workouts can offer a quick and effective way to increase strength and endurance.

For those who are not yet familiar with this new way of exercising, AMRAP stand for “As Many Reps As Possible” or “As Many Rounds As Possible.”

In the As Many Repetitions As Possible workouts, you complete an exercise at a set intensity for as many repetitions as possible for a set time period.

In the As Many Rounds As Possible workout, a set circuit of a set number of repetitions of each exercise are laid out and you need to complete as many sets of the circuit as possible within a set timeframe.

HOW DO I BECOME A CROSSFIT GAMES ATHLETE?

If you’re looking to become a CrossFit star — go for it, you’re already a champion! Here are the steps.

 

1. FIND A CROSSFIT AFFILIATE.

You have to get used to CrossFit. Joining a class is easy, click here to find a  CrossFit gym near you. There are over 13,000 affiliates worldwide.

 

2. START TRAINING.

Get familiar with the movements and start tracking your progress against other athletes to find out where you stand. CrossFit did not use to do this, but a lot of times now they will put up a WOD and they will also put up what one to five of the top CrossFitters got on that workout. If you are beating their times, start making your travel plans.

 

3. SIGN UP FOR THE OPEN IN MID-JANUARY.

The CrossFit Games has a two-stage qualification process.

Stage 1: The Open. An online five-week, five-workout competition that typically runs from late February through March. Registration starts in mid-January. Anyone can sign up. 

Stage 2: Regionals. The top men, women, and teams from each region in the Open advance to regionals. These three-day competitions determine who will advance to the CrossFit Games.

HOW DO I START CROSS TRAINING?

Once you’re equipped with the basics—an open mind and willingness to put in the work—look for a box that offers the first session free of charge, so you can give CrossFit a try without full-on commitment. In an intro session, new athletes are introduced to CrossFit’s most basic movements, lifts, and workout of the day (WOD) formats so that they have a general understanding of what to come when they join.

If you decide CrossFit’s for you, sign up and move through the beginners class, usually labeled “fundamentals,” “elements,” or “on-ramping”, until you’re ready to move onto the Olympic lift technique.  These will be the basics for all future WODs.

Give it a go and see if it’s for you. There are NO wrong answers!

 

HOW FIT SHOULD I BE BEFORE I BEGIN?

“The greatest thing about CrossFit is that it’s for everybody,” says Nate Forster, CrossFit coach and competitor, and owner of Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave and Reebok CrossFit Miami Beach. “CrossFit is supposed to get you in shape—you don’t have to get in shape to start CrossFit. All WODs are scaled to a level that you can do, and you work to go heavier, faster, and longer. We start at your level and go up. The biggest step is walking in, and once you do, you’ll be hooked.”

 

I HAVE A HECTIC WORK SCHEDULE. IS CROSSFIT A HUGE TIME COMMITMENT? 

No. An hour a day is all you need to squeeze in a CrossFit session. A 60-minute class typically begins with a stretching/warm-up section, moves on to a strength/lifting segment, and closes out with a conditioning WOD.

 

HOW MUCH MONEY IS CROSSFIT GOING TO COST ME?

On average, a membership will run about $200 a month. That may seem like a lot at first, but many athletes choose to cancel their gym memberships when they commit to CrossFit. Plus, most boxes offer deals when you sign up for multiple months at a time or enroll with a spouse or family member, so look into all available discounts before forking out your first payment.

 

WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM CROSS TRAINING? 

Increased strength, improved cardiovascular stamina, and greater flexibility are some of the physical results that you can expect after starting CrossFit. But beyond that, you’ll likely to feel healthier and more confident in everything you do. When you routinely take time to put your body through new challenges, you might be surprised by how that practice helps you with the non-physical hurdles you face throughout the day.
